Firefox Brings Virtual Reality to the Web

It looks that Firefox takes a lead with becoming the first browser to enable WebVR support out of the box. Before, you had to use Firefox Nightly or custom Chromium builds to enjoy WebVR experience. You can read more about this here.
Blend4Web long time ago prepared for this exciting moment by delivering a WebVR-ready 3D Web solution. After upgrading your Firefox browser to version 55, you'll be able to view WebVR content with popular VR headsets including HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
The easiest way to create and view WebVR content is to use the standard Blend4Web Player. You can convert any Blender scene with a single export operation and open the resulting HTML file in Firefox. If your computer has VR capabilities, the option to enable VR mode will appear in the Player settings.
The Blend4Web team also developed a simple yet engaging WebVR game which you can run from here. There is also the amazing application specifically optimized for HTC Vive controllers. Check out this video recorded by Will Welker if you are still unsure whether you need to buy a VR headset!
This is certainly a milestone, and we are proud to be part of this technological advance which opens incredible opportunities in commerce, education and entertaining. We look forward to seeing the Chrome browser to support WebVR in the near future so that the majority of Internet population acquires the access to virtual reality.
