Season's Greetings from Dassault Systèmes
2015-12-21
It seems wishing everybody a Merry Christmas with an interactive greeting card is becoming widespread. Dassault Group, a French company known for its Falcon, Mirage and Rafale aircrafts as well as the CAD software SolidWorks and CATIA, has decided to greet its customers with the upcoming holidays in a high-tech way.
A traditional snow globe has been recreated in 3D, but unlike a real snow globe its contents are changed when shaken. Amazing animation and audio effects complementing this spectacle were done in the open source graphics suite Blender. On a web page, the content is rendered online with WebGL which ensures that the interactive 3D greeting card will be delivered to billions of Internet users, including those surfing the Web on their mobile devices.
The fact that Dassault Systèmes is using Blend4Web draws attention to the unique characteristics of our product yet again. Both programmers and 3D artists appreciate our convenient development environment, powerful tools, high quality rendering and cross-platform performance. And, of course, our users appreciate the freedom guaranteed by Blend4Web as a cloud-independent, open source solution.
